Three MPs -- Libby Davies of the New Democratic Party, Ujjal Dosanjh of the Liberals and Scott Reid of the Conservatives -- presented a petition asking Justice Minister Rob Nicholson not to sign extradition papers that would send Mr. Emery south to serve a five-year sentence for selling marijuana seeds online in 2005.

I want a government that stands up for me no matter where I am

or what I did. This Government has no respect for the basic principle of human rights let alone the people they are supposed to protect. Indeed, I question the existence of politicians who have no respect for the history of the growth and expansion of human rights that is an intrinsic, organic part of Canadian Political tapestry. It appears that these Socially Conservative, southern American Baptists separatist, neo-liberal capitalist who respect nothing but power and money and those enmeshed in it, care even less for their co-travelers if you consider the treatment of Ms. Guergis. As little regard I have for her political stance and abilities she was destroyed by her own leader on nothing more than spurious and salacious gossip without any regard or common decency let alone rights to due process and I can't help think that if a man Guergis would have been treated differently. This says more about the values of Harper and his apparent inability to deal comfortably with an accomplished women than any legality or impropriety she may have committed.

If he's a Canadian, and did

If he's a Canadian, and did it from Canada, I don't see any grounds ofr extradition - maybe I'm missing something.

Speaking out against Marc Emery's extradition

Thank you Libby Davis for presenting the petition to stop the extradition of Marc Emery to the United States of America. It was great to see that so many signatures were gathered and presented in parliament.

Thanks Libby!

Way to stand up for Canadians! We are proud of you - hold the banner high!
