Message from Libby

Dear friends,

Yesterday in Ottawa I was very proud to be named as part of Jack Layton's new team, as Deputy Leader of the federal NDP, in tandem with Thomas Mulcair, our new MP, who won an historic victory in the Outremount By-Election September 17.

I will also continue as House Leader for the federal NDP in Parliament, and Labour Critic, as well as Deputy Justice Critic for Substance Abuse and Prostitution Issues. I am very proud to take on these roles and represent the great people and communities of Vancouver East, to be a strong voice for social justice and people's rights.

No doubt things will be busy with my new responsibilities, but I have the best support and assistance from my teriffic staff: Janet and Phyllis in Vancouver, soon to be joined by Megan; Leanne and Carli in our Ottawa office, and Rob, the House Leader's Assistant.
